Experience

Senior UI designer, Groove

Apr 2011 – Sept 2011

Working remotely in the UK with Groove HQ in New York involves many a late night, buckets of coffee and hard work. Responsible for the entire back-end interface of the web, iPhone and iPad app, I have led the UI team from the first wire-frame through to launch and beyond.

Senior web designer, oneagency.co, East Anglia, UK

Nov 2010 – Sep 2011

Managing the front-end dev team within an award winning agency required a variety of skills; user experience, information architecture, wire-framing, WordPress theming, HTML5 build, ZEND Framework integration and CSS styling.

Digital designer, freelance, Bali, Indonesia

Nov 2009 – Nov 2010

The strong relationships I’d built in the UK with respected agencies ensured a constant flow of work for the 12 months I was away. The core of my work load was Web, UI and iOS design.

Front-end developer, Aviva & RAC, East Anglia, UK

June 2009 – Nov 2009

Specifically contracted as a designer with front-end coding skills to work on aviva.com and rac.co.uk. My role involved information architecture, HTML build and CSS styling.

Education

iOS Workshop / Manchester, UK

June 2011

An iPhone and iPad interface design course curated and delivered by the queen of UID, Sarah Parmenter. The workshop gave me a firm understanding of all the essential stages of designing for iPhone and iPad. I’m able to plan, design and prepare final documents within Apple’s Human Interface guidelines.

NWES / East Anglia, UK

July 2007 – August 2007

The successful completion of ‘The Business Start-up Course’ was an invaluable first step towards launching my career into the design world. This involved the knowledge, and skills required to start a business: marketing, organisation, work ethic, discipline and attitude, whilst dealing with legislation, tax & bookkeeping, cash flow, profit and loss.

British Academy of New Music / East Anglia & London, UK

September 2003 – June 2006

ATCL Music Technology & Composition – A three year course exploring music / tech / buisness. Music is my second love, after design. I intend to return there later in life to continue where I left off.
